Predicted Wisdom

"For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future, for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political and economic upheavals."

"You and I as individuals can by borrowing, live beyond our means. But for only a limited period of time. Why then should we think that collectively as a nation we're not bound by that same limitation."

"We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow."

Grace means Transformed

For the grace of God has appeared, with salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age. (Titus 2:11-12).
  • Deny godlessness.
  • Deny Wordly lusts.

  • Live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way.

God saved us by grace, He also transformed us by grace. We are not to continue living in sin according to the flesh.

Titus 2:11 reminds us that grace brings eternal salvation.

  • Along with eternal salvation comes transformation, causing us to say "no" to sin and "yes" to righteousness.

  • He died not just to save us for eternity, but also to transform us in the here and now.

Faith without works is dead.

  • Grace saves us and changes us.

  • Gods loves us too much to let us stay the same.

This reminds me of my favorite quote by George Whitfield-

"An unaaplied Christ is no Christ at all."

I love this quote because it challenges me and holds me accountable. If I say that I have been transformed then there should be transformation, not just at the moment of receiving Christ, but a daily transformation as if everyday I was receiving Christ for the first time again and again.

"If anyone would come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23
